SFB is the standard flooded SLI line, the conventional starter battery for the majority of vehicles on the road. EFB is the entry start-stop upgrade, with reinforced flooded internals that cycle roughly twice as long as SFB. AGM is the premium start-stop choice, sealed and vibration-resistant, with about three times the cycle life of flooded, and required for advanced start-stop cars with regenerative braking.
It depends on whether the car has regenerative braking. Cars with entry-level start-stop (no regenerative braking) want an EFB battery in the OE group size. Cars with regenerative braking, including most luxury European and modern Asian models, want an AGM in the OE group size. The fitment finder makes the call automatically from year / make / model.
Yes. Every ZITEX battery (flooded, EFB, AGM and gel) is built as a maintenance-free design with no top-up required across the full warranty term. AGM and gel are sealed VRLA designs with pressure-regulated venting; flooded and EFB ship with sealed caps and integral flame arrestors.
